Dear people...
This is my first post here, on this forum.
I desperately need help and I think you guys are the only ones that can help me.
I recently buyed an DVD-RW Asus 1608P2S and I tried to crossflash with this tool [ http://tdb.rpc1.org/nullz/110_837_MAXRIP.ZIP ]
But now the drive unit won't recocnize any written DVD [+ or -] that I insert. The former DVDs I burned at 4x [I'm maniac] and now it seems that the new "bios" does not allow to read under 8x.
Whan can I do? Please help me.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and patience.
Ah, I'm so desperate.
Is the unit broken forever?

Argh!! Doing this kind of thing without understanding what you are doing is just reckless.
Here is original ASUS 1608P2S 1.37 firmware built into a Windows flasher. http://tdb.rpc1.org/original/1608P2S.ZIP

Hi,
This is my 1st post on here so i am sorry if it`s a novice question. I myself used to have a Pioneer 106 and i flashed it to RPC1 firmware. What firmware should i use to make it (Pioneer 110D) RPC1 ? I get the following information using DVRFlash_v2.2
Code: Commandline: C:\Downloads\DVRFlash_v2.2\win32\DVRFlash.exe
Device parameter was not given, detecting all DVR drives:
Device : 1.1.0 Vendor : PIONEER Model : DVD-RW DVR-110D Revision : 1.17
Status : RPC-2 (region locked) Region : 1 Changes : 4 region changes remaining 4 vendor resets remaining state is 'Region set'
Device : E: Vendor : PIONEER Model : DVD-RW DVR-110D Revision : 1.17
Status : RPC-2 (region locked) Region : 1 Changes : 4 region changes remaining 4 vendor resets remaining state is 'Region set'
Now run DVRFlash again, from the command prompt, using one of the device(s) listed above as first parameter
Press the Return key to exit
What firmware do i need to make this Pioneer 110D RPC1 ?? I don`t care about DVD+RAM useability as i don`t use it.
Should i use DVR-110D v1.22 - RPC-1.zip to make it RPC1 ?

Just use 1.39 from here then.
The Firmware Wizards TDB made it possible!

You could always crossflash to an DVR- 110 or A10XL and back to DVR- 110D and forth and back if you wanted.

Sorry if I seem a bit out of touch here, but I am on major pain meds (just had back surgery a little over a month ago, so still kind of loopy) I checked the firmware on the drive and it says 1.06.
Forgive if this seems like noob question, but will this particular firmware flash work for the above mentioned drive?
Signed
Slightly out of it Anysia

How do I use DVR Flash 2.2? I don't know how to use Terminal and keep hitting wall when it comes to getting any results. I want to update the firmware on my 110 and I'm using a Mac, 10.4.6.

Thanks everyone. I was able to flash my firmware on my DVR110D 1.22 to the Buffalo 8.39 firmware from TDB website using DVRflash v2.2 (realizing that I needed to get into the directory where DVRflash was located via Dos then use the dvrflash command).
Nero DVD speed has the bitsetting grayed out and "n/a" for the +R/RW settings - I assume this is because all +R/RW media will be automatically burned into DVD-ROM, correct? Or should the bitsetting options not be grayed-out and available?

"As pointed out many many times, you can flash back and forth using DVRFlash and the appropriate firmware(s)"
Agreed, but what about Pioneer DVR-110Ds which are reported as Pioneers upon casual examination, but are reported as Sonys, when trying to apply updated firmware (8.37, for example) using DVRPatch_2.2?
Apparently, Pioneer made a number of thee for Sony.

sony oem you need the sony firmware unless you want to crossflash the drive to pioneer, then you would use DVRFlash and the appropriate command line with the firmware

Try as I have, many times, these drives refuse to be cross-flashed to PIONEER.
These always report themselves to be PIONEER, until you try crossflashing, using the -ff option, and then these tell you that they are Sony.

Perhaps it needs the -0 option to use the Universal Key?

Correct firmware for my DVR-110D drive?
A while back i had flashed my DVR-110D drive to DVR-110 (8.37) with 110_837_MAXRIP.ZIP (DVD-RAM BITSETTING RPC-1* NORIPLOCK*)
But when i tried to flash drive with DVR-110D 8.39 INT firmware from tdb using DVRFlash I got "Firmwares and Drive type mismatch" error.
Does this mean that i should use DVR-110 8.39 INT firmware instead?
