Ah talk about coincidence, I'm interested in the K05 to replace my current UJ830S (DAMN THOSE MATSHITA DRIVES! ). How do you like the "slot in" disc loading feature, is it fast? What exactly is MCE Tech? The only place i found those drives at a reasonable price is eBay (90US$+Shipping). super7 wrote: As for the MASTER / INVERSE CSEL settings, I'm not sure where to look. Can you point me where to look
Actually it's written on the drive itself. But don't bother taking yours out to check, I'm pretty sure it's a Master/Inverse CSEL one because the RPC1 flash from the DB is based on Pioneer's official fw for Inverse CSEL drives.
(Btw, there is no official Pioneer fw for the CSEL version of the drive, yet)
See you!

Hey, no one's all that fond of Matshit drives, right? *grin*
TheShadowRunner wrote: How do you like the "slot in" disc loading feature, is it fast?
The "slot in" loading isn't all that fast, but tolerable. No faster than the SR8176 found in old TiBooks, but it's OK for me. One thing you need to be cautious; the position of the slot in the K05 was slightly different compared to the Uj825, and realigning was needed before fixing the [*Profanity*]. TheShadowRunner wrote: What exactly is MCE Tech? The only place i found those drives at a reasonable price is eBay (90US$+Shipping).
MCE tech is a Macintosh specific peripheral supplier. The K05 from them
cost considerably more than what you paid, but I was speculating that
there might be some software patches for the OSX, that MCE supplied
with their drives. Later, I found out that K05 was supported by OSX without
any extra software
Be seeing you!

If you mis-flashed the Pioneer DVR-110, it would have been placed into "Failsafe" mode. This will not appear properly on a Macintosh. It requires reflashing from a PC. If this is a USB drive, it can be done from VirtualPC.
If the drive is simply in "Kernel Mode" it will reappear if you fully shutdown the Mac and drive before restarting.

Probably again the nasty IAA...
Can you boot into REAL DOS like using a floppydisk & DOS disk for booting? That way you could use the DOS DVRFlash version to eliminate IAA interfering the flashing process.

Be sure to download the DOS version of DVRFlash and install all the files into a folder on your hard drive before booting the floppy. Read the instructions that come with the DOS version.

Thanks for the boot img...
So....
I downloaded the flasher from here : http://lasvegas.rpc1.org/... dos
I downloaded the firmware from here : http://gradius.rpc1.org/.... for 110D
then i copy the flasher (DVRFlash) on the hard drive (where?) on the desktop ? .
Put the firmware into the same place (gradius)
shut off the PC, then boot on the floppy made from the image disk
launch on DOS the flasher exe ...
is that exact ?

Copy both the flasher and firmwares (extracted) into the same drive or better folder (eg. C:\flash) and restart using the floppydisk with the bootable DOS disk.
Because NTFSDOs is on it, yo can access NTFS partitions (your hdd) afterwards, cd into the folder with the flasher & firmware and try to flash the drive.
PS: Don't forget to read the README for the DOS version because you have to run tools prior to DVRFlash, eg. adddev.

Hm, you said "stupid".
OK, a 3.5" floppydrive is in the computer, correct?!
Either you need to change the boot startup sequence for drives in the BIOS or you can press F2 or similar to force booting from the floppydrive first if that is supported by your BIOS.

1) Place the "dos" folder into the main C: drive's directory.
2) Put both firmware into that same folder.
3) boot the floppy (as explained above) and select CD Support.
4) To switch to the dos folder on the hard drive, enter: Code: A:\> cd C:\dos 5) Install ASPI.SYS: Code: C:\dos\> addDev aspi.sys 6) Enter the command to determine the drive letter: Code: C:\dos\> dvrflash -v 7) Enter the command to flash the drive (replace X: with the drive letter): Code: C:\dos\> dvrflash -f X: RB100011.122 RB100111.122 8) Verify the successful flash with: Code: C:\dos\> dvrflash -v
That should do it! BTW: If the firmware names differ from the above, (they shouldn't), use the names of the firmware you have.

Are you installing this drive inside the PC or is it in a Firewire enclosure? If the later, there might be a problem with the bridge chipset to the drive.

Hello,
For "chief" that was not on real DOS but on Win XP "Pro", it was impossible for me to boot on in real DOS with the PC i have, but next W.E a friend will borrow me an "old" PC.... i'll try to do so....
For "LasVegas" Yes, i connected the DVR110 into the PC, on a IDE port, there where an other DVD writer (Philips) which works fine...I just remove the Philips and place the Pioneer DVR110 in the same slot.... I tried in "Slave" mode, "master and "cable select" .. I'd got three times the same answer ....
