For testing purposes, can members try a quality disc scan on your 110D's to see what kind of scans you get, the discs must be burnt using the 110D also

I wasn't really, please don't take it as an offence. I'm german and my grammar is sometimes extreme directly to the point...

There are fake Verbatims, not only with DVD media, that's why I mentioned it. From your info so far these media probably have a quality problem.
Is there a chance you could try them with another firmware or another Pioneer burner??

Ok I know it has nothing to do with the DVR-110 Topic, but as far as I could remember even the DVR-106 didn't have a fan in it I think they were only in the A03/A04 era...

Can't remember my A03 having a fan, my A04 defo did though.

I've never rated Verb CD-R, well not for along time, i only use Taiyo Yuden CD-R now... i also think the Quality of Verb DVD Media has gone downhill especially the MCC03RG20, not bad but not good.

would say the problem lies in the media you are using, seems the burner reads the disc and decides it cannot burn to it, what is the media id?

I returned the Memorex disc and they gave me the Fujitsu 8x DVD-R

tried to burn dvd and system froze.

Since I had no DMA on my hard drive, cause My DVD Burner was a slave to the Harddisk so XP will not give the system the DMA
So I put the hard disk alone as master and the DVD AS a secondary Master and the CD RW as a secondary slave.

Tried again to burn the dvd and voila it burned. on the Fitsuji.

I tried the Memorex, and system does not freeze.

I think its was the set up of having both the HDD and DVD burner together that froze the operation.

Now the problem I have is that my darn home DVD Player won't play the DVD I burned. it tells me "ERROR LOADING", I looked at the Manual and it says that the TOSHIBA Home DVD Player only accepts DVD VIDEO.

What can I do so my Home dvd player can play these DVD. TIA
Some one in the UK says he has no problem playing the DVD-R on his Home Toshiba SD2109. could it be the Region code. the home players says it will accept region 1 and All.

In Nero Info tools, it says my region is 1 and region control is RPC II

now what does this mean.

We are not here to teach you how you can make DVD copies.
Please remember that this is "The Firmware Page".
There are enough places on the net with gudes etc, eg. videohelp.com and doom9.org ...

About your media problems and setup:
Your computer/OS should be able to support DMA for all drives that are DMA capable.

Yesterdat I bought a new Home Dvd Player PAnasonic S29
It says it accepts Regioncode 1, 124 and ALL. My question is

If it accepts ALL what is with the 1 and 124.

My Other question, My region code is 1 and If I burn a DVD, and plan to sent it to Europe It will be R-code 1 and if not mistaken Europe is region code 2 That means they won't be able to play it. Correct me if wrong

Plus in Europe they have I think the PAL system and we in N. America its the NTSC system. By removing the Region code can the NTSC DVD be played in the PAL system in Europe. Tia

if you burn a dvd with a program running in the background such as region killer, any dvd etc, then the disc will be free of the region restrictions, if you copy it and set it to region 1, the europe players which are region free and modified players only will play it, the second point is we can play NTSC discs ok here as long as our TV's can handle the signal and of course the first point the player able to play the disc

for no hassle playing, yes (most TV's now in europe can handle the NTSC signal however)

When copying the DVD you can easily remove the copy-prot. and the regioncode aswell.
As for the PAL / NTSC problem, most of all available players on the market have built-in PAL/NTSC Converters. In this case even the TV doesn't need to handle NTSC here.
NTSC>PAL or PAL>NTSC transcoding is a tricky thing if you haven't had experience with it before.

true, depends how old your equipment is, as my first sony dvd player would only play NTSC in black and white with some tv's, this however like you say has been rectified with newer equipment

That's a bit of a simplification of what your manual say's. It is showing examples of DVD region markings that will play in a region 1 player. In other words:

If the DVD say's it will work in Region 1; It will play.
If it say's it will work in Regions 1, 2 or 4; It will play.
If it say's it will work in ALL Regions; It will play.

What's that supposed to mean? I don't understand your post.
A burner always has slower accessing times then a READER, that's just normal and technical related.
