Hi guys,
I can confirm for you that the DVR-110 (pure unit, non-D) does indeed have NO RIPLOCK (as expected):

...and some media info on the disc RPM'ed:

Mmmmhm.
So, if anyone is interested - we have started our "day by day" review on the 110-pure, at speedlabs.
Day-by-day-review
Enjoy.

Thus far, unless my eyes fail me (and yeah, thats well possible....ehehe) the PCB and controller hardware appears to be EXACTLY the same.
I will not draw any conclusions based on this, as yet.

May have to take a look at that. I wonder how similar it is to the 1.22 we are currently running on the DVR-110 Multi Recorder? Running the flasher on a system with a 110D and a 110 on the same EIDE channel dumps out an interesting error to the effect of the 110 (non-D) not passing the "Hardware Revision" requirements..........

It's the DVR-110 that supports DVD-RAM writing

I believe this firmware is for ALL 110 models. NOT just the 110-D. Many of us have wondered if updating firmware could convert the 110-D to a 110. This is not the case with the current 1.22 fw.
Sorry if you're confused.

only problem with that is the 110 shipped with 1.22 firmware already, so this update is not for them

If you check the name of the file it is obviously for the DVR-110D
278020004 DVR110D_FW122.exe
The firmware for the 110 is
RA100110.*** & RA100010.*** ID : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110
And the Firmware for the DVR-110D is
RB100111.*** & RB100111.*** ID : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D
Entirely different firmwares

If this fw is ONLY for the 110D why does PIONEER state DVR-110 (all models) ?
Please set me straight 'cuz I'm confused if you're not.

Pioneer does not even state that it is for the DVR110D they just say DVR-110 which is obviously wrong as you know it works for the DVR-110D
You had better take this matter up with Pioneer and get them to clarify the issue!

Yes, I know it works for the 110D. I don't know that it ONLY works for this drive.Do you know that it does not work for the 110?

Clue Striped animal
Thanks for "clue-ing" me in. Where I'm still "clue-less" is why PIONEER has to confuse consumers with two 1.22 fw's and numerous incarnations of the 110.
But as you rightly say, Flash, these are things one should properly address to PIONEER.
Thanks again for the information.

This is the reason for the confusion, pioneer have poorly stated all 110's on there site, but not for the first time its wrong
