I have tried to update. Done everything right (Bootdisk,....) always get the message: can

Check where this file is and also the batchfile calling for it.

THX for trying to helping me.
I was running a search with no result. The messge comes when I boot from disk and run the firmware update. Is the torisan.dat file somewhere at my harddisk ? I am not a specialist in this.

I wonder which firmware update you've run and from where you've got it, because I can see none here.

Probably you've tried to run the firmware update from here which would be not the right one then.

I made a bootdisk; copied all the relevant files to the disk, rebooted my laptop and did 312ps as well as 312sm - none of them worked, both mentioned can

I wonder which program from the batch/disk would request that file?!?

I have also that drive and got exactly that problem. What is torisan.dat? How i can flash my drive? Because i need to start DVD-RW on my laptop.

this is an old DVD-ROM drive.
Could you please provide specific info about this drive by using Discinfo?
