This new firmware is great...tried burning @ max speed and encountered no problems...

I used the Platinum 8 speed DVD+R's

just curious here... DVD media comes in 4X and 8X speeds standard yet 6X is an option even though no media is made under these specs. Is it possible to allow 10X and 14X as an option for those whos disks aren't 12X and 16X compatible?

I updated the firmware to 1.06 as recomended but I still get a read error code when using xcopyxpress, I tried dvd decrypter and got a message stating drive needs to have region code set. I backed out cause I dont want to do anything wrong. I need help, Do I need to do what decrypter says? I dont want to return the unit.

I have winxp, 1gig ram and all kinds of goodies on this machine.

Try playing the DVD and setting the region accordingly prior to using XCopy Xpress.

can i upgrade to 1.10 and still burn my 4x media at 12x or 16x

or if i put the new firmware i need to wait till they have a hack for it?

right now i have Nil hack 1.06 16x4all.

If you put any official firmware on the drive you will be restricted to the burning speeds dictated by Pioneer

I've got an A08 and it won't let me update the firmware to 1.14. It says it is successful, but still shows as 1.10. Any tips???

Provide more info, the complete output from the flasher would be helpful and a prove of what you said.
