HI :)

I have a sony dvd writer "DW-U11A".

In fact ,it is the same than "DRU-500A" but it is one used in the "RDR-GX3" : Image .

I tried to flash it with the same flasher/firmware of DRU-500A but it say "no drive..." ,the pb is i can't use this drive :( I think it's about firmware...isn't it? )

THX
Bye :)

The DRU-500A flasher will not work directly on a DW-U11A drive. It's designed to be idiot proof so you can't flash the wrong drive with the wrong firmware. But if you flashed it with DRU-500A firmware would the RDR-GX3 recognized it?

What exactly is the drive reporting as, post the summary from DiscInfo. http://hijacker.rpc1.org/discinfo/

In fact , i haven't the "RDR-GX3" , i work in a after sale and i have replaced this drive by a new . So , i kept the old and repair it and it is now ok (but it want work only on the RDR-GX3").

Now , i would like use it on my pc because i haven't dvd writer :)

When i plug it on my pc , i must push its "eject" button to succeed to start my pc , if not , my pc block on just after the boot sequence and if i push the eject button on dvd writer at this moment : it is ok.

I have one of these in a GX7 recorder. Can the firmware be extracted (backup) before flashing ? I tried a number of utilz but no luck yet. I'd like to get a suitable replacement too. Is there anyone that knows what is unique about the U11A ?
