awesome!

I'm loving the reduction time of 12 and 16x writing. Would be interesting to see the results in some tests.

Just recently burnt a full DVD+R 8x @ 12x (RICOHJPNR02, Platinum) using Nero 6.3.1.20.

Needed 6:58 for 4465 mb.
Lead-In & Out were burnt faster than before. :)

that's great to here chef, hopefully this will be a good step to upgrade, wonder if nil will continue on the 1.06 or will bypass finishing it to work on this version, before people say it there is no pressure meant by that, just people will ask, so its said and done

it looks like the drive now starts burning at 16x at the 4GB mark... lets hope pioneer can cut this to 3.5GB by the end of september!

OK, so has anyone tested a burn at 12x? I would love to know if 12x is still faster than 16x!

@Termie

CMCMAGE01 16X burn 6:49
RICOHJPNR02 12X burn 7:03

So now 16X burning is faster

Substantial (read "huge") improvement in burn quality of RICOHJPNR02

Roger that. Thanks for testing, Jackass. :)

Would you be able to test a CMCMAGE01 @ 12x so the comparisons are fair?

Thanks again!

TerminalVeloCD

How are you guys burning 4 x media @ 16 x with official 1.10 firmware from Pioneer? Does this new version unlock all the speeds for all media? Or are you simply flashing 1.10 official first, and then nil's version and it does something?

I'm thinking of running some tests on the 1.10 FW, but I read on the pioneer site that once you flash to 1.10 there is no way to flash back to an older version. Sounds like BS, but can anyone confirm this if its true or not?

Only 8x media can be uprated to 12x and 16x at this stage. CMCMAGE01 and RICOHJPNR02 are 8x DVD+R media.

You can use DVRFlash to return to an older firmware version if there's a need to.

TerminalVeloCD

You must use DVRFlash 2.0 Pre-Release as told here before.
There is no other way.

Check the current DMA status of your drives before flashing >>> see my signature.

Such a device doesn't exist! You forgot to insert a space between the driveletter and the firmware name.
R81008.108 is not the correct firmware name.

Hello [_chef_],
great !!!
it works.
i have made a restart (maybe better) and the problem was the forgotten Space between the Driveletter and the Firmware!!!

Thx very very much

Greetings
