Ok i want to start with telling you that i atm have not bought a drive to patch rpc1/2, that is why i am here to begin with to determine a suitable drive.
Also i have spent alot of time reading the FAQ and the forums searching including other forums such as cdfreaks (MYCE). However the more information i gather the more disoriented i get.
So i will ask direct question that will give me the answers i seek.

1. The firmware files @ files.rpc1.org are they RPC1 patched? For example the "1" file for LG BH08LS20 (i am interested in a blueray drive that is DVD RPC1/2 autoreset firmware patched so i can play my DVD´s regionfree, i am aware of the software side regarding bluray.)
2. if 1 is NO, have i understood correctly that you can load firmware with MCSE and "possibly" patch it then flash it to drive with some sort of flashing application, havent quite figured out what application that is for LG yet. Feel free to enlighten me when it comes to that.

I hope you see where i am getting with this, i am quite confused. And i have honestly really been trying since the first day i registered to figure it out by myself. Be so kind as to assist me with my queries even though it me be highly aparent for you.

Before i actually buy a physical drive. i simply want to pick the RIGHT drive that i can patch so i can play my movies on.

Thank you
Robert

To add something for example i read this on the MCSE utility page.

Quote:
RPC2 auto reset patch for
- LG GSA-E40x/GH20/GH22xS40/GH22xS50/GS21/GS23/H4x/H6x/S10/T11/T20/T21/T30/T40/T50/U20/GGW-H20x/GGC-H20x/BH08xS20

Am i right to assume the BH08LS20 can be made RPC2 Autoreset with MCSE?

These might be silly questions but atm i am quite desoriented from all the information i got, and sometimes conflicting information.

Such firmware can only come from LG or an OEM.

1. Firmwares that are rpc1 patched are named so or at least described as rpc1.
2. Correct, the method of flashing depends on the drive. Check the MCSE info.
