I have 2 DVD burners--1 is an NEC 2500A with a firmware upgrade to 107.
The other is an LG -GSA-4082B with a firmware upgrade to A206.
Both are rated at 8x burn speed and I'm using Ritek 8x DVD-R at the moment.
When I burn with either unit, the best burn speed I get is with the NEC 2500A at 4.04.
My first question is why is the burn speed so low? And the second question is are there any mods I should make to improve them.
I'm not interested in making either unit region free for I have the LG set for region 1 and the NEC is operating without a region specified.
What would the bit mods accomplish?
