i own a jvc gr dv3000; the jvc gr dv-2000 has progressive scan mode, my model (dv3000) does not have, although it has a progressive-ccd;

there must be a way to get extra funktion on consumer-cams, like prog-scan; different framerates(ex. 5 frames / sec or one frame every 3rd sec); shutter speeds; iris values;...

does anybody know which OS is used on jvc camcorders(is it linux)?
is the software programed in java?

which programs we can use to read out the firmware?
which software we can use to write back to the firmware?
