I have a Dell Dimension 5100 Desktop computer. My CD Rw drive will not recognize a disk in it and won't create music from MP3 to CD. Do I have to use a specific type of blank disc? I currently am trying to use a DVD+R disc. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Oh and the TSST Drive can't be found on any sites to try to upgrade it and no software installation came with the computer!
Thank You!

If you're trying to create an audio CD like what you'd buy in a store, then you don't want to be using a DVD+R disc, you want a CD-R. You should invest in some good CD/DVD burning software such as Nero, or Easy Media Creator. You can probably get a trial version of either one to begin learning to use your burner.

Firmware will not help with disc recognition problems.

Thank you for the information... I do have a good media software but the drive recognition of a cd problem had nothing to do with the DVD versus CD R right? The drive I have has had other people complaining about the same problem! Would getting a CD R disc help the recognition or is it a drive issue? I can't find any upgrades for my drive and dell has no suggestions for me! How can I find a compatible drive for my dell if that is the issue!
Thanks!

If your drive is a CD-RW, you can do nothing with DVD media.

Audio or CDDA always refers to CD media, not DVD media too.

If you want to create a CDDA, use the free BURRRN software.
