:?: Dear colleagues have an external burner HP CD Write 8200 series of which would want to use the box and the interface IDE to put him a Hard Disk and when I connect him the hard disk the PC it recognizes me this box like the burner of CD HP that I should make to convert it from external burning box to hard disk box, thank you

Does that mean you want to install the burner internally (in a normal pc)??

I have an external burner of CD HP 8200 series and I want the box of this that he/she brings an interface IDE to take advantage and to put him a hard disk IDE but when I put the USB in The PC it recognizes me this box like quemedor HP 8200 and I cannot see the hard disk

You have an IDE cable on which you can connect up to 2 other ide devices.
the first one has to be jumpered as master, the second one as slave.

I repeat, I have a box HP 8200 series that inside of he/she brings of a burning IDE of CD it manufactures, but I want to locate inside the box a hard disk, this box has to enter to the PC USB, what happens that alone it is identified as burning HP and the hard disk that I introduce to the box inside don't go. Thank you for their patience .Joselec

Then the enclosure you have is not suitable for optical drives.

Hi Chef.

I think his English is a little challenged, but it seems to me that what he has is an old HP IDE burner in an external USB box that he wants to remove, and install a hard drive in the box instead of it, so that he has an external USB hard drive instead of a USB burner.

I suppose you can only try it and see if it works - it would depend on whether the IDE interface in the box is standard or maybe will only work with a burner.
