The Firmware Page

Once I decided to flash my SC-152-L with new firmware C101
(certainly now i understand that this one is not for my cd-rom)
& my drive has dead.
I used flash rom utility from Hijacker published in archive on this site
and firmware right from samsungelectronics.com.
Now CD-ROM is being unrecognized by my motherboard even in BIOS.
MB doesn't see it on any controller.
Please, if you know how to get rid of this problem and if it's possible to recover firmware & to rehabilitate my Samsung drive, RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE.

I have just bought a Samsung V20 XTC laptop that has a Samsung SN-324B Combo Drive in it.

I flashed the rom today using Arzeno's new firmware posted on Tue Nov 19, 2002 7:40 pm and have had the same results.
ie The drive is no longer recognised in windows or even in the bios.
The drive seems dead
I tried running the samsung flash util to put the drive back to the original firmware and of couse it says that it can't find a drive (unsurprising really).

Maybe samsung have started protecting their drives

Any help would be deeply apprciated on this topic. Its for a Christmas present so I kinda need a solution quick.
