Hi,

I need some help, I bought an Matshita UJDA170 CDROM for a Fujitsu Lifebook C345. My problem is, that I can't boot from CDROM. In the BIOS I save the Option Secondary Master = CDROM, but always when I boot, this information is lost.

With IDEDIAG I testet if CDROM is on Sec. Master. It's on Sec. Slave. Is there any posibility to change the firmware from Sec. Slave to Master?

Thanks

UJDA170 - what is this?

An UJDA 710 would be an Laptop combo drive.

The UJDA170 is a Laptop CD-Rom-Drive which was build in 1999, from Kyushu-Matsushita. It was used in the Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook C345.

Could it be, that the UJDA710 flash-software could also be used for the UJDA170?

There seems to be no firmware for this drive...
It is old, so it could be that it is NOT flashable anyway.
