OK, Toshiba announced to seize the HD-DVD development which clearly means the so pronounced NG format war is over.
Lets hope the outcome of this will be a benefit for the customer and not the industry!

Benefit of customer is when Bill Gates finally produces an OS that doesn't require huge service pack and works right out of the box with no bugs or problems.

But seeing how that idea has failed since the start......(-_-")

Now VMD really is starting to give the "BD Alliance" headaches... I had seen that coming, LOL.

Personally I'm just going to wait for a dual format drive that can read both HD-DVDs & Blu-Ray Discs... What exactly is VMD anyway...? Have any major drive manufacturers signed on as wanting to produce them yet...?

Versatile Multilayer Disc. go up against the bluray. they can have upto 30GB on each layer.
