i just bought a Panasonic UJ-220 IDE Blu-Ray BD-RE Burner to run in my dell d630. i got this from ebay where the seller claimed it would work fine. the laptop is a 2.5 duo core. 2 gigs ram and vid card is NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M. the o/s is win 7 enterprise. heres the problem... where as its recognized the issues are that it runs in pio4 mode. ive tried many time to change it to dma but it never takes. even after rebooting the dma reverts back to pio4. the older original dvd burner drive runs in dma fine.
the last time something like this happened was when i put in an dvd burner into a dell d610. no matter what we did the dirve would not run in dma mode until we took a chance and crossflash a samsung firmware into it. it originally came with an hp firmware. so my question is does anyone know of a firmware that will allow Panasonic UJ-220 IDE Blu-Ray BD-RE Burner to run in dma mode in a dell d630 and win 7?

Post a discinfo output first.
Panasonic drives are always OEM and the correct firmware is the key, especially with Laptops!
