A google search turned up a thread (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=47110#p229301
) in these forms that alludes to the fact that the firmware patch for the LG UH10LS20 is an autoreset firmware upgrade.
It took the long way around, but this is the information I was looking for, confirming for me that the LG UH1LS20 is the drive I should stick in my HTPC -- It has an auto reset firmware upgrade available.
I have no idea of the feasibility, but if the firmware database had some kind of indication of what functionality the firmware provided (RPC-1, autoreset, ???), it would be much more useful for people trying to figure out which drive to buy in the first place.
You have some really good FAQ's, and a lot of mechanisms for people to search for their drive, and ways to submit requests for their existing drives. But it's not terribly transparent or obvious when trying to go the other way.
Thanks to everyone who's helped create a great resource like this. The above note is not meant as criticism... Just a suggestion that might make this an even better resource for people who are trying to do their homework BEFORE they buy.
