yes its RPC1 and bitsetting Firmware, shortly we will be hosting RPC1 Patched pioneer firmwares, MCSE patched, from 111>115, this will be for mainly mac users, who have no access to a pc to use MCSE, obviously these will be updated as new one's come out.

Hope this will help members

yes very much for us PPC Macers. being able to use just DVRFlash 2.5.1 and go from a 111D- RPC1 111L would be fantastic

I actually have these files on my harddisc here.

Would you also happen to have the files for a 112? Never hurts to ask!

I have a mac mini with a DVR-K06 Q614.

The faq for this program says it works on Pioneer DVR drives, but I can find no reference to this specific drive, nor can I find a firmware to flash it with.

Does this drive fall under the purview of this software?

Thanks.

Wow thanks for the quick answer. In that case, is there no hope for this drive? I have looked around and can find no firmware for it... the drive has been around for a while now, too.

Thanks again.

I have no idea, but I would really appreciate some way to unlock it. It's been out for quite a while now, millions of people have this drive, and it's so restrictive not to be able to watch all my DVD's on my mac mini, which now runs all the media in the house.

It's a Pioneer DVR-K06 Q614. It's the standard factory drive in my mac mini.

Glad to hear something is out there. A couple questions, since I'm no expert on these things:

Would I be sacrificing any functionality by downgrading the firmware to the older version?

Is it reversible?

Would I have to run a region app every time I wanted to switch regions, or would the drive simply be unlocked for all regions?

Where do I find the flasher and the firmware for the mac?

Thanks, I so appreciate all your knowledge!

more than likely loose media compatability, not reversible unless apple have a newer firmware available, you would need to use RegionX to bypass apple software restrictions, the only trouble is you need to flash it within a windows environment, xp, the download is from the dangerous bros site, see portal page links

Hi,

I've followed the steps to the letter, dragging and dropping as I went, and I keep getting a terminal line saying 'permission denied'.

Here is the exact transcript:

Last login: Mon Oct 25 09:08:17 on ttys000
The-Mac-Pro:~ admin$ /Users/admin/Desktop/DVRFlash/dvrflash -f PIONEER /Users/admin/Desktop/DVRFlash/R6100006.105 /Users/admin/Desktop/DVRFlash/R6100106.108
-bash: /Users/admin/Desktop/DVRFlash/dvrflash: Permission denied
The-Mac-Pro:~ admin$

Any ideas what's going wrong?

Thanks,

Mat

try using ochmod 744 command before typing the location of DVRFlash and your files
