I have followed relevant instruction to DVDFlash my DVR 110 without much success to 1.41. I have been told to create the proper links in Terminal to that external drive. I do need help as I am not too familiar with Terminal. My system consists of an Intel Mini 10.6.8 connected to the DVR 110 externally via an IDE USB adapter. Help much needed and Thanks for responding.

That will not work with such an adaptor.

Will it work if the DVR 110 is connected internally in a PC and flashed ? What is the procedure if then, the 110 is re -connected in a Mac environment ? Thnks

Have you tried with DVRFlash for Mac??

Of course you can and should connect the drive internally (ide/ATAPI connector) and then flash it. But dont forget to jumper the drive correctly.
Once flashed in another computer, you can just unplug the drive and install it in another computer system.
It should then be detected by the BIOS and OS, and normally that should be all.

Is your goal to upflash the drive to the latest firmware or make it RPC1 or RPC2 autoreset??

DVRFlash will flash it as an external if that is how you want to do it. have a look on the mac section for the page and follow the command procedure

It's not I am ungrateful. So many negative answers, like it can't be done or isn't better to buy a brand new one. Surely someone can give me the right command in Terminal and prove me that it can be achieved !
