hello!

i want to flash my dvd-rom device, to get full read speed.
i found the firmwares wich exist.

but i don't know the differences of the funpack, and the patched firmware.

which advantages/disadvantages gives the funpack to me?
and is it possible to flash this device in DOS? (which software is needed to do so?)

best regards,
z421 :)

mtkflash is for Mediatek based drives only.

You could maybe use a flasher provided in the offical firmware updates, but the better way would be to use the one included in the packages: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1691

The RPC1 versions 1031 and 1034 come with a DOS Flasher, and a README.TXT file, it might help if you reviewed this. http://tdb.rpc1.org/#M1802

The Fun-Pack binaries provide various rip speed settings beyond the 10X we found reasonable. To rip at higher speeds the media must be of high quality and burned cleanly.
