I am running the firmware flash update as instructed on an (HP Pavilion N5420 laptop) in the readme file and it seems to be stuck in a loop. I was not able to boot strictly to dos but rather in safe mode with command prompt. Should I break out and restart or am I hosed? HELP!

You cannot flash from Safe Mode. Go ahead and restart your computer.
You must get into Real DOS to flash.

From XP Pro I created a DOS boot disk and booted from that. C drive was not recognizeable once I booted from the A drive so I copied the Vup100k executable and the e1011.hex file to the floppy disk, booted from A again and executed VUP100K E1011.HEX numerous times. I continually receive the same error message on the comparison
'COMPARISON: ERROR, eject or not stopped'.
Is this due to running the program from the A drive or is there a different flashing program I should try?
Thanks!
