my toshiba 2402 rom is locked in the euorpean region i would like to unlock it with some flashware. i know nothing. is there someone out there that can walk me through this?

Use DISCInfo to find your current firmware version, then choose the appropriate patch from here. The process is described in the readme file.

does anyone know what happeded to the old firmware database? it seems the link to the main page doesnt work anymore. neither dl_firmware.php or dl_all.php
