Hi, i tired to upgrade the firmware for 106s and i connected the DVD-ROM to UDMA66 primary slave and i cant upgrade the firmware in DOS...do i have to connect the DVD-ROM to UDMA33 secondary Master inorder to upgrade the firmware and get region free???....any help will be apperciate!!!!! Thanks

Oh, one more question, after i patche the DVD-ROM with the RPC 2 firmware, do i still need DVD Genie??...i means do i need DVD Genie to make the DVd-ROM to region free?? Any help will ne apperciate!!! Thanks

I have Pioneer 105S 1.33 and using dvd killer. It works great. :D

Hi, First yo need to use an IDE cable for ATA33, it doesn't matter if the bus is ATA66. Connect it as Secondary-Master. Boot with a disk of plain DOS. I know you know all that. Important, don't use the Kirill 1.22 RPC-1 yet, seems that some people is having problem with it, the link was supressed however. ( http://dvd105s.multimania.com ) When your drive becomes RPC-1, the software, like PowerDVD or WinDVD will notice that and will try to control the region by itselfs, so DVD Genie comes to work here, cracking the protection for the SOFTWARE. So, obviusly you'll need DVD Genie.

Okay, guys get the dvdrom to region free finally:)...i guess i just need dvd genie, when i try to play a dvd with powerdvd....neway i used RPC 1.09, to patched my 106s:)...and thanks for helping
