What does DriveInfo or CDVDInfo report? Is your drive still recognised by your OS? What OS are you using? Did you try with another OS? You're the first one to report a problem with the 1.22 firmware, so it might well be an OS problem. When you flash a new firmware, windows will detect the drive as if it was a new one. Now, if you've installed loads of stuff in the meantime, the windows driver might have got corrupted with another one (eg CD-Burner app driver, etc.) Are you sure you don't have any problem reported in your Setting->System->Hardware panel?

No , you did not killed your dvd drive. I got same problem when I patch'd latest 1.22 firmware. Problem is in your software player. To get it working with you'r player(winDVD, powerdvd etc.) again you need program dvd-genie 4.05, get it here : http://www.inmatrix.com/files/dvdgenie_download.html /sLettem
