I have Plextor 712A dvd rw and NEC ND4550 A dvd rw drives .Tried BENQ 12Xcr-rw and problem with both drives :( Plextor can't recognize it , NEC do it very long time and after this blocking ? This is strange , isn't it ?

Are these media marked as "Ultra-Speed"?
Hi-Speed CD-RW require specific capable drives, a normal CD-RW drive is not suitable.

The NEC should have no problms with them, I think. Not sure about the Plextor 712.
