The Firmware Page

Hi,

I have a Universum DVD-DR4044 Player.
I want to update the firmware gut I do not know what I have to update (did not find the firmware version and new firmware). I found the following information on/in the player: RL-S2003 (RMC).
I checked for same build players (e.g. LG) but couldnt get the information.
So can somebody tell me if there is a same build player and firmware available or what firmware can I use? Do I have to look for additional information?

Many bought DVDs are not recognized by the player. Burned CDs and DVDs are working in many cases. So I thought it would help to update the firmware (for the whole player).
But it seems like the diode is too old!?
Any idea what to do?

Nope, wrong way.

Cleaning the drive/lens properly is the only way to resolve such drive issues, firmware of any kind cannot help.

So, grab Isopropanol and a q-tip and clean the lens (es) carefully after disassembling the player/drive.
