I need the update firmware to fix the incompatibility issue with the nforce4.
I have contacted with MAtrix but I don't have response.

My HD is Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 200GB 8MB 7200rpm:

Model: Maxtor 6V200E0
Serial Number: V40A254G
Revision: VA111630

Thanks in advance.

Can you please give more details?

I've never heard of such issues nor had them seen myself here.

i can confirm an incompatibility with my nforce 4 and my maxtor SATA II, sometimes it does not get detected on boot sequence, BIOS returns boot failure message as is can't load the OS, but yeh not really a question for this board heh.

Does your BIOS includes an BOOT DELAY option?

That is a problem of firmware. Maxtor send us a correct firmware to update it.
The problem is that Maxtor is hard to get a response.. and I ask you for this firmware emailed by Maxtor.

chef, it isn't a problem of DELAY option, this issue makes the system reboot randomly, read errors
--> switchly automatic windows to the SATA 1 mode to prevent this read errors.
it's a general problem, not mine or our BIOS/Windows configuration.

Thanks at all :)[/align]

well I did get a response from seagate support, and they emailed me a new firmware for the hard drive, I don't think it will work on any other drives besides the one I had which was:

Model - 6V300F0 - SN-V60C73GG - Firm Rev VA111630

Sadly, I had already sold the drive on Ebay so could not test the firmware.

However, I have uploaded the firmware they sent me and instructions on how to update the firmware if anybody is interested, you can download it

Here
