I'm new here and just a bit confused - on the "Latest News" page (08/08/2010) the firmware for my Optiarc AD-7240S is shown as 1.04 but when I go to the Firmware Database page for the 7240 I see 1.02 and 1.03 ("Official"). I checked The Dangerous Brothers page and there are no Optiarc (aka Sony Optiarc) models listed. So, which version is the latest & greatest (and where is the appropriate d/l link)? Thank you!

Okay - YES, this is a burner. I humbly accept your admonishment. Back to my question: which version f/w do I get to make it RPC 1? Do I just get 1.04 from the Sony page and will that make it RPC 1? So sorry for being such a newbie here. Thanks.

Our forum has rules, simply follow them and no one ever will have the need to advice you....... So, manufacturers NEVER ever release rpc1 firmwares. Look here: http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/Optiarc-AD-7240S/1.04 is not yet listed, but will probably be soon. Seems that it is a Liteon clone, so maybe try to use LtnRPC on it........

Thanks, I was having a hard time finding the page when I was looking for it earlier. =D I had rem seeing it when I 1st bought my parts for my PC. Btw there is a 1.04 liggy posted now for rpc1.
