The Firmware Page

Hi All!
This is my first post on board... and stupid maybe simply problem.

I have Lenovo n200 with this writter and I cant write on DVD-+R DL discs at all dvd`s cd writer work very slow :/
My firmware is ED01 manufacturer LG.
I wont change firmware to newest but I find only this: GMA4082HY02 on Lenovo site and gma4082nhn03.exe on board.

When I flashing always have one error,of course I try in safe mode...and to same.
I tried everything (

This writer is too old, you cannot burn DVD+R DL with it.

HY02 is not for your burner.

Have "only or not" 2 years and is old??
I know this is Lenovo but.... working god. Without this writter fault... :/
At all is possible to change or repair firmware on this writter???

Ok, some things to try.

Which exact DL media have you tried with, and with what software(s)?
Because you have an OEM drive (IBM/Lebnovo), its possible that DL write support has ben disabled by the OEM firmware.
We know such "money-saving-tactics" from Dell drives. :-X

Please use DVDInfopro and check out the abilities of your drive. Or Nero infotool.
Its no 100% proof but worth checking.

I use Verbatim DVD+R DL ,Maxell DVD+R DL,Sony DVD-R always in Finalizing disc I have error,
CDs write fast and without problems...

My software is nero burning rom,imgburn and clone cd ,cds no problem,dvds have them all.

Chef please,why can I flash this drive? Its really such crap?

For me its unnormal name 4-6 drives, this same numbers and model!?
I read on web,this drive have dell,hp,ibm-len,toshiba etc.. all have same name model but another bios!? how its possible?
You see on screen writter not support dvd+r dl write neroinfo tool says "can write"...Friend have hp with this writter
and write this dvds witout any problems...but have another firmware (((

Could you please use imgburn, insert a blank Verbatim DVD+R DL (which do you have, MKM001 2.4x or MKM003 8x?) and post the info from imgburn here?

I found this fault! Now working good wit all dvds -+R DL etc.

I have Vista Home Premium in registry I found this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\Scsi\Scsi Port 4

My writter don`t have supported Dma mode and write only small cds...when i create in this key DWORD
named: "Dma64bitAddresses"
system: hexadecimal
value data: 1
(I found this info in Polish lenovo support forum)
Then restart Win and reinstall writter,I found nice information in NeroInfotool
In Device Manager\CD-DVD Devices:


In ImgBurn Settings I Reset DMA,and check WriteType: DAO/SAO
Now all working in this "faulty or not" firmware!!!
