Nice catch, and I think this is also very interesting!

Pioneer is also expected to release new Blu-ray drives at the second half of this year. Both combo and writers will appear offering increases in the BD / DVD writing speeds. They will be the company's first drives to offer writing to BD-R DL and BD-RE DL media as well as support for the new LTH (Low-to High) Blu-ray media. Pioneer is also expected to offer a FW update for the company's current drives to support LTH.

Interestingly, they are already for sale within copiers etc.

Here: http://www.cd-kopierer.com/disc-publisher-pro-dvd.html

Probably they were imported from the us or down under...

Some nice pics can be found here: http://pitdvd01.5.bbs.fc2.com/?act=reply&tid=1998491

Is this the Buffalo version?!?
http://www.buffalo-technology.com/produ ... ultidrive/
http://buffalo.jp/products/catalog/storage/dvsm-xl20u2/
It seems so, and it is also earlier available here than the 116/216 itself...

It features SecureLockWare (SLW), and Labelflash as well.

Good find!

I really wonder which MKM003 media they have used for their test (10x DL burning).
The reason is a significant quality difference between MIS / MII / MIT depending on the burning speed...

I recently got MKM003 10 pcs spindle MIT from the web and found that burning them faster than 4x is no good idea. #-o
2 days ago I grabbed 10 pcs spindle MKM003 MIS from our local "real" for €9.99 and they are great ones. :D
