It is for a Sony OEM Drive while i got mine from Medion. I wouldn't ask for a patch if it would work in safe mode, but i doubt it will or should i test it?

its been answered already, you cannot use this firmware on your drive, and there isn't anyone who can remove the drive check

Sorry I am quite a beginner, but how do you install a firmware in the safe mode?

I am stuck on region 1 and want to go back on region 2 but have no changes left. I have a toshiba satellite that has a matshita UJ-841S CD-DVD RW.

doesn't matter if you install it in safemode, your stuck on region 1, drive is now region locked

I have an ASUS A3 laptop with the Matshita UJ-841S which would read dvds fine but will not read cd-r's and cd-rw's.... can you help me with this? this laptop is 2 years old

Clean the drive.
If it doesnt help the cd part is dead, probably.
