Any tips on enabling Region Killer? I've tried a few things, but no dice.

If you have TDB 1.06 firmware and want to upgrade to 1.19, downlod DVD REGION KILLER and run, then you will be able to flash!!! :)

I just tried it as a test and it worked for me. :D
I downloaded RK 2.5 set my Region to 4 and then ran the official Pioneer DVRA11 update and it worked..I don't know why, but it did.

Excellent stuff! Its worked for me too :o

I don't know what RK didn't like about my MCE install, perhaps .NET 1.1 or 2.0 not sure, but a clean install of XP on an old spare drive did the trick.

And now to see if I can burn these sub standard Verbs any better :x

seems extreme just to flash a drive, but it worked, personally i couldn't get this to work

Not that extreme really I just disabled all SATA in bios. The drive bays are quick release allowing me to easily substitute a burner for a loose 7200rpm IDE drive, nips along really on the release version of XP.

I will admit to being a bit too impulsive in flashing to patched in the first place with no clear way back

apparently .NET 2.0 will stop dvd region killer being activated, so to update, this needs to be unistalled to update.

Obviously not (even after reviewing the documentation), but thanks for your concise guidance, mate.

Ah, damn... short term memory loss based on the fact I don't use these things every day. None-the-less, I'll consider myself firmly put in my place...

Umm... as long as we're playing smug and nit-picky Whack-a-Mole , where exactly did I mention RW media...?

Best regards, eh?

Here's a tip, the patched version of the Pioneer flasher will flash same-on-same and RPC1, so copy over the original binary and use the patched flasher to get back to stock.

1.19 RPC1 for DVR-111, DVR-111D and DVR-A11XL models.

BTW. Does DVRflash not work for the PIONEER DVR-111?

Thanks! That was the problem. The firewall blocked it.

Has anybody tried cross-flashing already a Pioneer DVR-111(D)? Any restrictons? Downgrade to 1.06 first?

Is then the L version the ultimate one with bitsetting and Labelflash?

Thanks in advance!

Usually I try it myself but I just put together an external writer with the DVR-111(D) in an enclosure for a friend who's coming from abroad and I would hate to kill his drive. On the other side I would like to upgrade his new writer to the best firmware out here.
