Dear Friend...

Seems like you do NOT know a VERY important difference between 110 and 110D drives/firmwares and the FARCE that is CURRENT 110D firmwares.

Guess you must be VERY tired

Well, did you read what BenJeremy wrote?
He asked for equivalent to 8.22. To my knowledge and as far as you may read at TDB homepage, the only 8.22 present as it is or as "1.22" is aF/W for 110D. So I assumed Ben Jeremy needs a F/W to upgrade his 110D.
Would you be so kind to enlight me and tell me why on earth you suddenly talk about the 110? (I know they are the very same drive but this is not the issue now IMHO and unless you have to burn dvd-ram you don't need the 110)

Dear friend, TDB already have removed the region slavery.
If you need latest Pioneer just flash with 1.37, if you need bitsetting and RPC1 just flash with 8.37. In both cases you may use dvrflash, latest version and voil

Thx for your answer, it is clear what you wished and I understood well what you asked for.
Whether the name is "general" or not you will be able to flash as I wrote
(I have 2 drives running that way) and DVDInfo, Nero, Imgburn, dvddecrypter and any other proggy will show :
PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-110D
F/W revision: 8.37
RPC-1
And in the future you will always be able to flash back to whatever you want using dvrflash.
Using 8.37 you will get bitsetting for dvd+R as a permanent feature.
IMHO 8.37 is better than 8.22. I had a few bad burnings with Verbatim MCC 04 with 8.22 at max speed. I haven't seen any probs with latest F/W yet, using the very same media.

Yes, same thought here. They haven't improved much with x.37, but fixed some problems with 16x burning of course.

Merry Christmas & a happy new Year to you, ukendt!

A long thread! I've read through the thread but still not sure if the 8.37 is DVD-RAM + RPC1 + full bitsetting. I guess because the posting were not submitted at the same time and the original posting might have been amended, but I may be wrong. Since upgrading fw, if no done properly or if wrong version is used, may render the drive useless, I think I better ask the question again just to make sure. Hope you don't mind.

Mine is an internal DVR-110 just from store yesterday and the current fw is 1.37. It has DVD-RAM read and write as reported by DVDinfo. I don't think it has bitsetting since I tried it with a DVD+RW and my Philip DVD931 (4 years old) couldn't read the disc. I am looking for the 8.37 in the first link of the original post

PIONEER DVR-110 ATA 0010 OEM_INT FULL AUTO-BITSETTING FIRMWARE 8.37

and I expect DVD-RAM + RPC1 + full auto bitsetting. Am I select the right one? Please help.

The firmware is NOT RPC1, but everything else is correct. The DB have an RPC1 version, but it's not the one you quoted...

So, if I stick with 110, I can have DVD-RAM + full bitsetting but not RPC1. If I go 110D, I can have RPC + full bitsetting but not DVD-RAM. AM I right. Did you think there is chance that the 110 + RPC1 version will come out in future?

First off - your statement is correct (for now)...

If you read the thread in detail, you would have noticed a posting by TDB that when time was available "other version" would be made RPC1.

What I would do is send the a private email requesting the exact firmware you would like as RPC1. This would at lease raise the priority on the requested version...

Panasonic DVD-RAM Driver and Tools v5.0.2.1 (for ALL DVD-RAM Writers)

THESE ARE WINDOWS PROGRAMS ONLY

These are for those interested in DVD-RAM writing on the Pioneer DVR-110 etc. particularly regarding formatting/writing DVD-RAM discs to the standard cross-platform UDF 1.5/2.0 formats rather than FAT32 which although Windows XP does natively, is NOT a truly portable cross-platform format and rather obsolete now. For more detailed info read any one of the excellent PDFs (by Panasonic) in any of these installers.

These and older versions are floating around here such as on Flashman's site which is the older v5.0.1.8 (without hardware check). BUT These new 5.0.2.1 versions unfortunately now have a DriveName hardware check and will NOT install if a MATSHITADVD-RAM is NOT detected. Fortunately, I have removed this limitation via a one-character patch in an embedded DVDDrive.ini setup file. NO executable programs have been patched! All drivers and tools will run EXACTLY the same as the originals, but will now install on any system with (or without) ANY brand DVD-RAM writer.

So here they ALL are, COMPLETE and repacked in much smaller 7z sfx exe installers than the panasonic.co.jp distributions. Just to reiterate, NO files have been removed (or added) from the panasonic distributions, even though these repacked exe installers are ~50% smaller.

http://rapidshare.de/files/10362973/Panasonic.DVD-RAM.Driver.and.Tools.v5.0.2.1-WinXP64.exe.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/10363090/Panasonic.DVD-RAM.Driver.and.Tools.v5.0.2.1-WinXP.exe.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/10363207/Panasonic.DVD-RAM.Driver.and.Tools.v5.0.2.1-Win2K.exe.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/10363485/Panasonic.DVD-RAM.Driver.and.Tools.v5.0.2.1-Win9x.exe.html

Also relevant here and particularly useful to Win9x users but also to Win32 users (NT, 2000, XP 32-bit, 2003 32-bit) is IMO the best Adaptec ASPI Layer v4.6.0.1021 (oldie but goodie) which I have also removed the hardware check via a one-byte patch. I have seen other variations of this such as ForceASPI and ASPI4ALL (on >NIL:'s and hijacker's sites) but this is a more elegant solution IMHO. Just one byte difference to the Adaptec installer.

http://rapidshare.de/files/10363540/Adaptec.ASPI.Layer.v4.6.0.1021-Win9xNT2KXP.zip.html

These could be called a no hardware check collection

:) Happy New Year Everyone :)

04-Jan-06 : MINOR Buffalo updates to EXTERNAL DVR-110/110D flash programs

* FIRMWARE FILES Rx153x10.837 UNCHANGED
* FIRMWARE FLASHERS UPDATED FROM Ver2.31D to Ver2.33A

Perhaps only the TDB might be "slightly" interested in this as they currently use a patched version of the old UPR10DOE2.EXE (v2.31D) in their 110DX837.ZIP release. The updated (digitally signed: Pioneer Corporation) UPGDVD flash programs apparently fix some situations where "Available target is not found." is displayed when it should NOT be. This of course may wrongly prevent some customers from updating their drive's firmware.

Here are the details for those interested:

Hi!

I know that you can crossflash a 110D to 110. Can you do the same with the buffalo firmware? Aka flash my 110D to the newer Buffallo 8.37 for 110?

Thank you!

Yes, you sure can. But unfortunately currently there are NO 8.37 RPC1 firmwares for the DVR-110

Hopefully this will change soon. Perhaps the TDB are on holidays or are having trouble unscrambling/patching these specific Buffalo DVR-110 8.37 firmwares?

@TDB: Could we have an update on this situation please?

Thank you for the answer!

I don't care for the moment about RPC1, because I still have my good old Pioneer DVD-116 in my computer with a RPC1 firmware.

Thank you :D

PIONEER DVR-110 BUFFALO 8.37 RPC-1 FULL AUTO-BITSETTING FIRMWARE

* With easy to use ONE KEYPRESS cross flashing batch file for WIN ALL
* MAC users can cross flash the same RPC-1 firmware files using DVRFlash with undocumented -ff superforce switch

http://rapidshare.de/files/11235804/110_837.RAR
RAR PASSWORD : * Do NOT ask or PM me! * Bother the TDB for it! Read this WHOLE post for reasons!

@ Arzeno
How about a USEFUL new portal poll such as:
WHAT BRAND DVD WRITER DO YOU USE?

@ chef
You still have avoided answering the question in your cute reply to my previous post. For someone who does a lot of work here and uses a DVR-110 drive I would have thought this drive would have been a priority of the patchers here to reward your efforts. And especially this particular firmware which actually writes better (eg. DVD+R DL) than Pioneer's other own premium firmware for their premium A10 retail drive.

@ PumaUK
In your last reply to me, you just prove you are just a blind fanboy. I could list detailed timelines to prove my points but you can do this yourself if you bother to OPEN your eyes. When you yourself produce rather than just vapour, a patched firmware, driver or useful utility for the community, which I have done all, then you should AT LEAST expect to be acknowledged (and even a thankyou would be polite and appropriate) ESPECIALLY by senior members such as Moderators who take and mirror your work without even bothering to write a word. This is by definition LEECHING.

@ TDB
This is all MY OWN WORK. I had to unnecessarily re-invent the wheel. IGNORING experienced people who genuinely want, can and have previously helped this community is just like a private little boys club. If it weren't for the help from >NIL: you probably never would have patched any Pioneer DVR firmwares. I will release this ELSEWHERE if you continue to INTENTIONALLY ignore this.
EMAIL with 110_837.RAR password will now be sent to tdb @ rpc1 . org.
I hope YOU decide to help THIS community. I have NO desire to join a private little boys club.

@ ALL

Regarding Windows Vista and removing support for RPC-1 drives. Those who upgrade to or buy that DRM loaded crap that hides under the name Vista deserve what they choose. There are very good reasons as to why, for one example, Windows 2000 is still more EXPENSIVE to purchase than XP in most countries.

This place just ain't the same as it used to be when >NIL: was around. REAL discussions AND ANSWERS took place then.

I see no point in posting a file that is password protected. That will only dissapoint people and distance you from them. Such a pity after all your hard work.

Are these firmware now posted full DVD-RAM support as well as bitsetting and RPC-1?

I take it they still rip slower than the Official Pioneer ones though right?

Thanks

"PIONEER DVR-110 BUFFALO 8.37 RPC-1 FULL AUTO-BITSETTING FIRMWARE" which translates to RAM+BITSETTING+RPC1 :D

tdb doesn't seem to want to share the password, maybe they don't like me  :o

Firmware sounds fantastic. Just wondering if anyone can confirm whether it is still rip locked or not? If that can be removed then finally we have an all in one firmware for the 110 with NO limitations.

I wonder if any more official firmware will be released. Been quite awhile since the last one from Pioneer.

I will add a riplock patch in the next MCSE version, assuming it will work like with the 109 firmwares.

I thought all the 110/110D drives were riplocked removed with the original firmware supplied by Pioneer?

I could be wrong, hard night 8-)
