DVRFlash v2.2 : Pioneer DVR firmware flasher
by Agent Smith, et al., November 2005
Commandline:
/Users/Marcello/Desktop/DVRFlash_v2/mac/DVRFlash
Device parameter was not given, detecting all DVR drives:
Device : A:
Vendor : PIONEER
Model : DVD-RW DVR-108
Revision : 1.18
Status : RPC-1 (region free)
Now run DVRFlash again, from the command prompt, using
one of the device(s) listed above as first parameter
Press the Return key to exit
Dvrflash -v A:
logout

I just launch the application and then after it gives me infos about the drive by itself, I type the command You said. My macos is in italian, could that make any difference?
If I am bothering you I apologize.
I have virtualPC, too
can you direct me to a thread where I can understand how to perform the same operation with vPC if it is easyer?

1) try reading them in safemode
2) unistall all ide drivers and restart the system
these problems are more system related than firmware

Welcome to the Forum
The problem you are describing appears to related to the use of poor quality blank Media. Suggest obtaining known proven quality Media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Media that consistently produces quality error free results.

Hi Coaster,
the DVDs i have using until now to archiving my data are from Verbatim , else from Intenso. 5 disk cost zirka 6 euro + tax

Summarizing your original Forum posting of Sat Oct 20, 2007 1:11 pm ->
Both 700MD CD Disks and Original Commercial DVD Movie Disks can be read with out any problems but ONLY personally burned DVD Disk Media cannot be read.
In seeing that Original Commercial DVD Movie Title Disks can be read properly on you computer clearly demonstrates that both your DVD Burner and your computer Windows Operating system is functioning correctly and can read DVD Media.
This leads to the question why you are receiving "Access Not Possible" and

I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere, but my search did not turn any thing up.
Why has development on DVRFlash stopped? Has the architecture of the newer Pioneer drives changed so much that updating DVRFlash is pointless? Has the author gafiated? Been abducted by Pioneer agents in black helicopters?
