These are the brands I have problems with erasing. They seem to be identical.

Is exactly the same as the one in the firmware. Probably you've got a bad batch (or NEC made some mistakes (pretty likely ).

My firmware doesn't change anything for these media, so it HAS to be either NEC or the media!

I don't have any DVD-RW media at the moment. But I thought the drive only supports DVD-RW @ 2x. This media is 1x, that's why it might cause problems!

I tried to flash my 1300A with the 105xpfree Firmware to get my Princo's burned. I copied the EXE-file and the BIN-file on a Bootdisk. Than I used NEC1300A.EXE just as described:

NEC1300A.exe -sec -mas -out original.bin
Result: worked perfect - I got a file "original.bin" (filesize 8,708 k)

Next step:
NEC1300A.exe -sec -mas --flash 105ypfre.bin
Result: Some progress, then error message:

_NEC DVD_RW ND-1300A 1.0503031700
Uploading Firmware 512k ROM
.................. BD32

Cmd : CC 04 32 BD 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Err : 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 24 00
Error: Upload and burn failed

Can anyone help me? I tried it with the 105xpauto-Version before but with the same result (just different numbers and letters)

can anybody send me the ORIGINAL F/W for the nec ND1300A i lost my!

And i have burned some Princo DVD-R with 4X
and my DVDPlayer cant read this stuff!;-(
And so ich will flash BACK the ORIGINAL F/W!
PLZ HELP ME

This post is getting so massive, it's hard to keep up. People ask for more support for new medias, even RWs and some people just simply need other kind of help.

For getting the stress of from this post, Im asking people to post replies here: http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?t=15040 considering Datawrite-medias (Princo-ones) and the Princobeta-firmware-update.

I even have some unanswered questions there.

When I try to update(and to save) the firmware, I have this message(I create a bootdisk(with all the files) with NEC1300A.exe and 105ypfre.bin):

Error:drive not responding correctly
Error:download failed

have you any idea?
(I'm with XP prosp1/asus a7v8xraid)

Hi Geo,

Your case is NOT the same as ssob's. The drive in ssob's case is responding.

My case is the same as yours and I solve it by pressing "F3" key after seeing the "not responding" message.

In short, it means that you have to repeat the dos command within a short time. May "force" be with you!
