Hallo,
i´m new and need help with my DVD Multi Drive

I have got an extern burner. The burner has firmware GSA-2164B 1.01.
I opened the case and found a GSA-4164B burner buildt in.

Q: Is it a good idea to flash the burner with original firmware GSA-4164B 1.03 i cab find at this site?
Q: When i try to flash this FW i get an error (wrong hardware) because ogf the flashed GSA-2164B Firmware.
What do i need to flash the correct FW for the built in GSA-4164B. I have never crossflashed a burner.

Thanks for your help

You could crossflash using HBLoader.exe to flash the firmware, but that will not improve the drive.

My crossflashing wasn´t successful.

My drive cant read cd-r , cd-rw. This was the reason i tryed crossflashing but it seeams that the drive is damaged. I have cleaned the leanse.

Thanks for your help.

P.S. i have backflashed to 2164D V.101 so the drive can read 1out of 5 cd-r
