Hi all, I have installed a Toshiba SD-R2512 firmware 1A04 (this drive came from a Compaq or HP, I think) :?: into a Dell Inspiron 8200.
I have run the RPC1 firmware update (SD-R2512_1A08) and DISCInfo 1.6.1 still shows 'Lock Detected" :(
Is this due to my trying to run a 'Compaq/ HP' drive in a Dell?
Is there another version of the firmware that I should be using?
Thanks in Advance

Have you read the FAQ and flashed the correct version?

So at this time, there is no RPC-1 firmware available for the Toshiba SD-R2512 with 1A04 firmware? :?:
I have seen patches for other firmware revisions, but not for mine. :(

Although DISCInfo shows No Lock Detected, the drive is still locked into only playing Region 1 DVDs.
Windows Properties shows the drive as having 0 changes remaining.
PowerDVD says that the drive has been fixed to Region 1.
Tried rebooting the computer, but same results.

this is not the drive saying it, its your software, the drive is now region free, for software you need to use dvd region killer, anydvd etc, read the FAQ, explained there

Tried and did all of that, no change.
Eff this POS, it's going into the garbage.
I never had any such problems with the GCC-4240N drives, so I'm gonna go back to those.
