Toshiba Laptops, as others, use the secondary IDE Channel on master for their optical drives, so the solution is to change the setting from Cable Select to master.
Please find the latest inverse CSEL firmware foryour drive below.
The drive needs to be recognised by the BIOS in order to flash the firmware.
If you do not have a notebook which does, you can alternatively use an IDE-adapter to connect the drive to a Desktop PC.
Instructions:
- Make bootable startup disk. *
- Extract / copy all files in the ZIP file onto the startup disk
- Reboot your PC with the startup disk inserted.
- Type 'update.bat'
F/W will now be updated (you may be prompted to insert a disk, any CD will do)
- Wait for flashing to finish.
- Reboot PC
