I replaced a CD-RW/DVD ROM DRIVE Ver. No 300 ROM Ver. 1317 that was defective, to the same model but with Ver No. 001 ROM Ver. 1015. I was looking thru your sites of firmware updates and have had no luck in finding it on all the Toshiba firmware pages. can someone help me find this firmware to allow the CD ROM gving a IDE #1 error. The original drive states M/S and the replacement states it's a CSEL can this drive be used as a replacement? The replacement was ordered thru Toshiba a while ago so I cant return the drive, hope someone can help me.

I need help too.
I have a Toshiba SD-R2102 (Rev A) firmware version 1016.

I visited the site http://backfire.rpc1.org/tsstcorp/index ... =SD-R2102/ and downloaded a version 1018 for SD-R2012 Rev A.

When I flashed the firmware, the drive is STILL RPC-2 according to Discinfo.

It appears that the firmwares there are RPC-2 and not RPC-1. However, I found on very old searches that there USED TO BE a Version 1018 RPC-1 flashed by "kotkas" on this site.

May I know where the RPC-1 version of that 1018 firmware is?
