I have this drive in my laptop. Using Ltnrpc I think the firmware is 3ME8.

Using the following link, which firmware should I be using?

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1461

The comment "only for drives with 3Vxx firmware" on the page above is confusing me.

use 3M0D for your drive, 3V is for drives with 3Vxx firmware, LtnRPC removes the region counter from the drive, use discinfo for a clear indication of your firmware

Just saw there is a firmware called 3MU1 , I loaded it in the omnipatcher and it also doesnt have a time stamp.

Now that one seems to make sense as it is chronologically newer 3MU1 than 3ME8

I'm kinda hesistant, should I try this one?

As a last check I know ultimately the decision rests with me but in your opinion are you confident that the 3MU1 firmware is the right one for my drive? I'm going to try this I think because I'm hoping this drive will be more media friendly.

I updated to 3MU1 but I lost the check mark beside the DVD+R and DVD+RW box in DVDInfo. This can't be good
