Hello everybody!

I'd like to flash my pioneer dvr-115D with MCSE patched firmware in order to make the writer to set DVD-ROM booktype for DVD+R DL.
I've downloaded the MCSE utility and the original firmware 1.22 from the pioneer website. Then, I loaded the firmware A0814001.122 into the utility, cheked the "enable bitsetting" checkbox and saved it with the same name and in the same folder with pioneer R115D.exe flash utility.
But, the flash utility won't flash the drive because it already has the latest 1.22 ( original ) firmware.
So, how do I replace firmware 1.22 with patched version of 1.22?

Thank you for your replies

Meanwhile, I've tried to fool the flasher by editing A0814001.122 manualy in notepad.I changed the revision data from 1.22 to 1.24. File size remained as it was before.
The trick did the job, so the flasher actulally wrote new firmware into the device, but at the end it came up with failure message something like " fail to start in normal mode" and revision and dates was set to all zeros.
Then, I reflashed with patched but not manually edited firmware 1.22, and process was sucessufull.
I burned DVD+R DL, and the result was dvd with booktype DVD-ROM.

So, I am happy that my drive is still working, and it's working the way I want, but I'm still wondering if there is better way to change the firmware.

Well, I haven't tried to burn DL before flashing.I tought that it was necessary to flash with patched firmware, because patching utility had option for enabling bitsetting.
Anyway, it works.

You also need to load the *.exe flash utility (R115D.exe) in MCSE, patch it to allow same with same flashing and then you can used the patched flasher to flash your firmware without any problem.

Alternatively you can of course flash the patched firmware with DVRFlash ...
