Hey everyone. I'm incredibly new to this, just learned about it yesterday. I have a NEC 1100A drive and I read that you can flash them to 1300A drives to allow DVD-R burning. I went here http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com and got the 1300a 10c firmware (newest) and the binflash gui utility. It says "The firmware file expects a different bootcode on your drive. You are not allowed to continue. Found 0x3035 - expected 0xFFFF." So I tried to use the dos flasher and it said something to the same effect. I then tried the NEC Driver Converter to change it to a 1300A drive and I have had no success with it, even after restart. I have no idea what any of this means, it would just be nice to burn DVD-R and also modify the burn speed of CD-R's. Thanks in advance for any help.

You are awesome :) It works! I'm looking at this Media Code Speed Edit and I'm not really looking to change dvd burn settings but it would be nice to boost my cd-r burn from 40 to 52x. Is there a way to do that? Thanks.
