Hey everyone. I'm incredibly new to this, just learned about it yesterday. I have a NEC 1100A drive and I read that you can flash them to 1300A drives to allow DVD-R burning. I went here
http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com and got the 1300a 10c firmware (newest) and the binflash gui utility. It says "The firmware file expects a different bootcode on your drive. You are not allowed to continue. Found 0x3035 - expected 0xFFFF." So I tried to use the dos flasher and it said something to the same effect. I then tried the NEC Driver Converter to change it to a 1300A drive and I have had no success with it, even after restart. I have no idea what any of this means, it would just be nice to burn DVD-R and also modify the burn speed of CD-R's. Thanks in advance for any help.
It works! I'm looking at this Media Code Speed Edit and I'm not really looking to change dvd burn settings but it would be nice to boost my cd-r burn from 40 to 52x. Is there a way to do that? Thanks.
