Help! I have a Pioneer-106 DVD-ROM firmware 1.14 which is region locked atm. After searching from this website i notice is using 106S 1.22 firmware for my drive. The problem is I dont know how to upgrade the firm ware can someone plz tell me how? I am really new in this area Any advice appreciated to stop me wrecking my drive as I have already done to the old one.

I can't help you - sorry.
But cause I got the same problem - I'd like to know how you wrecked the old one!!!

I might know an answer after answering this question. Because I know that there is a special software to upload stuff.

I shouldn't say that openly (because I've been saying this for 2 months now :() but, [b]when I find the time[/b], I'm actually writing a firmware fashing FAQ/Howto.

I hope that in one month from now, I will have completed the Howto part of this most boring document.

But it's definitely taking longer than I thought, because I want to explain properly how to identify wether a DVD is IDE or SCSI, or this bloody IDE secondary master stuff...

It's soooooo frustrating (and we don't even have a frustrated smiley!!!)
