Hi everybody! I made my drive (a CT10N in a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pi laptop) unable to detect DVD-RAM disks (which worked perfectly before) by carelessly flashing it with firmware downloaded from somewhere, I don't even remember where. Since then, I've tried every version could find on the Internet (A103, A104, WA02, WM04, WR09), and none of them seem to work. For this reason, I have a request - could a kind person with the version of this drive's firmware I originally had - WK03 - dump it and upload it somewhere? I'd be really thankful.

Quote: You just cannot flash a firmware from a different OEM manufacturer especially to laptop/slimtype drives and expect it to work afterwards!!! Yeah, I found it out myself - only it was already too late -- Unfortunately, I couldn't run DiscInfo on Win7 64b. Would the information provided by sdparm be equivalent to what DiscInfo displays?

I haven't tried running DiscInfo in compatibility mode. With sdparm, hdparm and other open source tools I've only managed to read the information I already gave you. When reading VPD (which DiscInfo seems to read as well) sdparm returns an error.

I've finally managed to run DiscInfo and read the information. Here are the screenshots of the DiscInfo main window and the Capabilities window. On a side note, all of the firmware versions seem to work perfectly and differ only in DVD-RAM support. EDIT: as in, only the version that was supplied by the manufacturer had it for my drive.

Thank you very much. I downloaded it, tried running the official binary, which didn't recognize my drive, then successfully flashed main firmware using Devilclaw's utility. It wasn't working yet, but the official updater detected the drive and I flashed it again (and I think it flashes the core fw too) - and it works now. It still doesn't "see" DVD-RAM's; however, it didn't read Bluray discs too, and cleaning the lens helped, suggesting that I'm very close to getting my drive 100% consistent with what the producer says about it - thanks to your help.
