Good afternoon.

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro 13.3" with the following drive in (From DVDinfo X3):

Vendor: HL-DT-ST
Model: DVDRW GS31N
Firmware: TA17
Status: RPC-2 (Region Locked)
Region: 1
Changes Left:3 Vendor Resets Left: 4

I have used Devilclaw's software to dump the firmware. The main firmware is here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/57758801/main_firmware.bin

I am looking for an auto reset flash to put back on the drive or a firmware to make this drive Region free.

Any help would be great. Thank you.

Hi there. It looks like the Firmware was resolved by PM with the previous request.

I have followed the directions as far as dumping the main firmware but MCSE does not allow me to modify the Main Firmware.

I am a noob so appreciate i'm not getting it right but I'm following the rules and any help to get the firmware would be great.

Have you tried with the latest MCSE version?

I tried with MediaCodeSpeedEdit V1.2.0.10. It would not recognise the file I have posted to Dropbox.

Not sure if I am doing anything wrong?

The current MCSE release does not support your drive.
The file you posted is just 61KB long, contains some mac main memory dump indicating you tried to safe the firmware, but no data of the firmware at all. The firmware file length should be 1901568 bytes.
As long as you can not properly read out the firmware from your drive, I will not send you a patched firmware, as I do not expect updating the firmware to work when reading does not work.

Hi ala42. Apologies. I have re-dumped the main memory and the file size seems to be right now.

I have left the file here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/57758801/main_firmware.bin

Hopefully that should be the right length now.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Still no joy. The post counter has me as 9 posts which didn't move after the last post and I believe this needs to be 10 to get PM's?

Thank you for your patience in trying to help.
