the LtnRPC mention this in the query box
"052400 INVALID FIELD IN CDB
RPC maybe disabled."

it say maybe only. is there anyway to confirm that it's already region free? i'm using win xp

What does "no results" mean?

Can you see the drive in the BIOS at least??

Hi [_chef_], I have a DS-8A3S with original firmware HA24. I did not burn DVD+R DL. So I have update the firmware with version HP53.
I don't have resolved my problem ..and I would come back to HA 24. Is there anybody who have the original firmware HA24 ?

Ah well, you have used a wrong firmware update it seems.

Hopefully some other user can chip in and help you to get the HA24 back.

Hi!

I'm Zoli from Hungary, and have also an emachines Acer E-525 with the sama DVD-CD-RW combo. It is not so a first class DVD writer, I had to refresh the Firmware too many times, because it became some mistakes, I don't know why....

I had found earlier the HA28 Firmware, but I have it deleted, and now I looked for it a long time, because it seems, the search engines are under destriction or so...

At all, I found it now again, and I'm happy now!

I will give You a Link, where I upéoaded the File, it was on Asustek's website...

Here the link:

http://data.hu/get/2413723/PLDS_DS-8A3S_HA28.zip.html

Hope, Your Drive will work again too!
Zoltán, Zoli from Hungary

Hi Chef!

My Problem wasn't that, what I meaned, my DVD Drive hadn't the Firmware Rev. 28, it had Rev. 17., and it works not perfect. I will say, sometimes it recognises a DVD+/-RW sometimes not, and I don't know how to fix this problem. I've looked inside my Laptop, the DVD Drive is a Phillips & Lite-on #PLD-DS-8A3L(B), Model: DS-8A3S19C, with Firmware rev.HA17. It's right with the Rev.HA28?

Best Regards.)

Hi All!

I've just readed at Microsoft's TechNet Site, that at flashing a Firmware must be a CD or a DVD Disc in the drive!!!

All Best!

:-)
