Hello!
Need a firmware WH66 for a Liteon DS8A1H. It was uploaded to this forum but only a half (1MB size .bin file istead of 2MB).
A drive stands in HP pavillion 2500 Notebook. No firmware for it nether at hp nor at liteon sites.
If somebody have such a drive please download the firmware and share it here!

Excuse me, but what's wrong in my request?
I wrote a manufacturer, a firmware that i need, a notebook where a drive is standing. But i can't give a discinfo output info because a drive is dead.
Maybe this can help:
A drive's light is on all the time when a computer works, no reaction to the eject button. Nothing happens if disk is in the drive.
I posted all info from the sticker on a drive. A firs half of firmware read from an unsoldered flash by programmator is almost the same as the bin file in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=45154 but some bytes are different. Flashing a chip with a first half from that topic gave nothing. a drive still dead. So I need a full file.
Please help.

1. that guys from HP say that they don't have a firmware for this drive. first my step was to ask hp support
2. liteon's support still silent (3 days left from my first request there)
3. googling gave me 2 links - the first to this forum and the second to the page at rapidshare containing cx17.bin file, which seems to be a firmware for ds8a1P drive.
4. flashing my dvdrw (for example) by ds8a1p cx12 firmware instead of it's original makes the drive to become a flashlight. flashing it by LH20a1p's file bricks this drive at all. but any utility will show that (the first FW example) it's ds8a1P and when the second FW applied - LH20a1p. And with the fw which was in the drive when it came to me All utilities that i used just don't see it. So what info for should I give You??
5. All i want from anybody reading this - look, if You have any working fw for this drive. Else if You have such a drive download FW from it and share it here or somwhere else and give me a link.
6. I understand that all that i do with a drive can make it fully malfunctional.
7. I read rules and I respect them. And I gave all info that i had looking to rules. I understand that making post by rules gives me a chance to get FW that I need.

Once again as previously stated if HP doesn’t have the specific HP Pavilion 2500 Notebook Lite-On DS8A1H Firmware then none exist.

As you have learned if you attempt to flash your Lite-On DS8A1H Optical Drive with any other Firmware not specifically designed for your HP Pavilion 2500 Notebook Lite-On DS8A1H will make the drive non-functional.

That is why the Forum specifically requires that the Forum Member requesting Firmware to provide the specific DiscInfo out file information for the specific Optical Drive in question to ensure that only the proper correct Firmware is provided to prevent errors in providing the wrong incorrect Firmware.

OK guys. Thank You for Your time wasted for me.
Now, underestanding that the Liteon ds-8a1h firmware WH66 from the drive which doesn't stand in HP Pavillion dv2500 notebook will kill my dvdrw fatally, I ASK YOU:
Please give me a wrong firmware of a drive Not standing in HP Pavillion dv2500 but Liteon ds-8a1h (fw WH66 or any else working) so i could kill my drive totally
