Hi folks,

I'm trying to figure out how or even whether to post a request for firmware, since it seems my drive is unique! I've Googled the model number that shows up in System Profiler, and found no hits at all. The drive was installed under warranty as a replacement for my MacBook's old DVDRW drive (which had a hardware failure). As far as I can tell, the new one is some variant of the LG GSA-S10N, but it is not recognised by either the official or MCSE-patched firmwares for the S10N. Here's what System Profiler reports:

Model: HL-DT-ST DVDRW GSA-S10N6
Revision: BS39

Any ideas?

Hmmm... that's sorta what I figured. Given that I doubt they'll be supportive of my intention to bypass the region-locking mechanism built in to the drive, any ideas on what pretext I could ask them for firmware? I already have another computer (Mac Mini) with an RPC-1 drive, so it's not a huge deal, but if it might be straight-forward to create an autoreset firmware for this drive, that would be great.
