Hi, i'm having a problem with this drive... It came in an Asus laptop - the original firmware was marked KR-01, but I changed it to the KQ-07 I found on this site hoping it would make a difference. However, it still won't recognise the DVD-RWs i've burnt with movies/music etc even though my Denon player will! Don't know if the firmware is the problem or something i'm doing when i burn them? I just want to be able to reuse the disks i buy... Think the drive was manufactured by LG, by the way. I've searched everywhere for something suitable, but no luck.
Thanks to anyone who reads this and knows what i'm talking about, or can help. KS.

No-one: I saw this alternative for a GSA 4084N drive - actually i think it was called KQ-09 now - and thought it must be a close enough match. Anyway, it hasn't made any difference - better or worse... Here is the discinfo you require.

OK. The Asus website seems to go by laptop model, but i couldn't find anything relating to dvd drives in their updates. The dvds i burn are burnt with various software. For example - Nero Startsmart essentials, magiciso, audiodvd creator and convertx to dvd. Like i said, the problem is the drive recognising the discs after burning them... thanks, ks.
